Ben Youngstone is an accomplished classical dancer, choreographer, and multidisciplinary performer.
After completing a conservatory education, he spent a decade performing for numerous ballet and contemporary dance companies across the country, working with choreographers such as Bobbi Jene Smith & Or Schraiber, Christopher Bruce, Dani Rowe, Yin Yue, Trey McIntyre, and Andi Schermoly. He has also presented his own work in a multitude of performance settings, from concert dance evenings to art galleries. Ben’s work has been commissioned twice for Beaverton, OR’s Ten Tiny Dances festival, he has choreographed pieces for companies such as Oregon Ballet Theatre, Sacramento Ballet, and Wonderbound, and he has had films accepted into CineVox Dance Film Festival and Idaho Screendance. The wide scope of Ben’s professional career gives his work a fluency between the formality of classical movement and the physicality of contemporary dance. His work attempts to take audiences on emotional journeys as dancers move through intricate structures of movement and narrative.
