Uncertain Growth

Uncertain Growth explores feelings of dissonance that can emerge from experiencing systems which we exist within but do not choose for ourselves. It is the recognition of these systems as constructs that gives us the chance to imagine an alternative. The piece contains three movements, each set to an increasingly claustrophobic version of Eubie Blake’s 1921 standard, Baltimore Buzz, edited by the choreographer.

Uncertain Growth was choreographed for Oregon Ballet Theatre’s OBT by Design program in 2025 before being selected to be restaged for the company’s mainstage production of The OBT Collection in June 2026.
